Warm modern therapeutic environment to promote healing with green plants and abstract artwork.

Lisa Zito, LISW-S, CDCA

Will I feel comfortable?

This is a common concern when looking for a new therapist, or one for the first time.  In fact, the strength and trust of a therapeutic relationship is the best indicator of a positive outcome.  You can expect a warm down-to-earth therapist who is culturally sensitive and trauma-informed.  Nothing you can say will scare me off.  I welcome cursing in session and will use humor and years of clinical experience to help you live the life you want.

What it’s like to work with me

In session you can expect warmth, respect, experience, clinical knowledge, and honesty. Unlike a friend, or family member, I won’t give you unsolicited advice, or tell you what to do.  My role is to help you discover your own voice and how to use it to create the life you want.  This is accomplished by holding trusted emotional space for you, helping you gain perspective, build confidence, and by practicing the changes you want to make.

Will therapy actually work for me?

My goal is to make therapy worth your time and money.  During the first session, I will get a clear picture of your strengths, challenges, and goals for therapy. I like to introduce specific coping strategies early to provide immediate relief. By using evidence-based methods that are rooted in a cognitive-behavioral framework and skill practice in your daily life, you will start to experience the benefits of therapy.

If you think we could be a good fit, I would encourage you to schedule a consultation, or first appointment by clicking here to schedule as a new client.‍You can also call/text, or email me directly. I look forward to hearing from you!
